Aristophanes suggested in one of his plays, Lysistrata (411 BC), that women should withhold sex as a mean to force men to end the Peloponnesian War . Here we are in 2009, and Kenyan women have followed Aristophanes' advice: they have withheld sex to protest “their country’s bickering leadership”. Just like Lysistrata called upon all Greek women to go on sex-strike; a women’s activist group called upon all Kenyan women (including the Premier's and President's wives) to boycott sex until the principal leaders would sit down, talk and get their act together. The women are sick and tired of the political instability that stormed through their country (which already sickled more than 10,000 lives in 2008) and want their politicians to focus on the country's welfare and security rather than on their personal ego and tribal issues. The Island of the Dead by Arnold Böcklin Death as Physical demise The body, as we know it, at some point (and for any given reason) demises. The ones staying behind usually throw themselves into the sea of sadness and mourn the departed ones. However, many of us celebrate the expiration of our loved ones since we believe that a new cycle of existence begins (one that is much better than the cycle spent on earth). Yet, sadness invades our being and gets comfortable on the fluffiness of our hearts. Why do we shed tears or feel sad? It’s certainly not for the “lucky one” who crossed over; it is rather for ourselves, for our own feeling of abandonment and temporary loneliness. This raises a question: is it correct for us to focus upon ourselves and pain; instead of rejoicing at the fact that the soul of the loved one is freed from the burden of matter and praying that it goes to the light? Family Politics: a field in utter crisis. Back in the days a child was polite; it respected its parents, older people, teachers and law enforcement agents. Children knew what was expected of them and being a child was so beautiful and innocent... But the new children on the block (generally speaking) are rude; disrespectful; they ignore the meaning of “figure of authority”; they are confused about their place in society, and they get to one’s wits. Kids are rude and disrespectful Observe the relationship between them and their parents. Their parents tell them to do something, they won’t. Mommy and daddy rebuke them (due to some mischief) they talk back and putrid language may be uttered. Mamma and papa won’t give them money, or the gadget they want, the spoiled brats either roll on the floor crying or insult their guardians. An Act of God

An act of God is the miracle of creation (under its many forms). An act of God is every expression of love, tenderness and care. An act of God is every bond, connection and act of intimacy... Yet there are other readings... In law, this expression signifies events that are outside human control (ex: floods, tornadoes, volcano eruptions, earthquakes and landslides).
