Interregnum....

Dear friends and readers,
I will be away for a couple of weeks; hence I will not be able to reply to your comments. Nevertheless, the doors to this blog will be open to you so, please, make yourself at home while I'm gone.
I'll see you when I get back!

Tags: Making a wish & 5 authors

Colin has tagged me to participate in the "Making a wish" meme:

Here are the rules:

1. Think about what it is that you want more than anything, what your heart’s desire and fondest wish is, and what it is that you would wish for if you were to see the above wishing star flame across the night sky.

2. Right click and SAVE the blank graphic above.

3. Use a graphics program of your choice and place your wish on the above picture.
Here's my wish:

I would like to tag Cidão and Liza
--------------------------------------------------------------------------
Cidão tagged me for a great meme (this one was created by Nando):
Choose 5 book authors that you absolutely love (your favourite) and 1 that should never leave the shelf (i.e. one that you detest).
My 5 authors are:
Eça de Queirós: a Portuguese novelist, the King of description; the prince of romance, and Sir Etiquette and Sophistication. His best novel: Os Maias (The Maias), a story of incest between two brothers who didn't know they were blood related.
Fernando Pessoa: a Portuguese poet; the Lord of multiple personality. He wrote under his own name, Alberto Caeiro (The Master of life), Álvaro de Campos (Sir engineering) and Ricardo Reis (The Pagan). I just love his work and his way of thinking. The greatest poet of all times. The Message is worthy of your attention!
Marion Zimmer Bradley: "The mists of Avalon" a classic! I like her books, I like the way she describes the life of the Celtics in the Pre and Post-Christian era. Politics, intrigue, manipulation, intelligence, magic, Priestesses and Druids...fantastic!
Freud: I am an absolute fan! Many say that he was crazy, but perhaps I am too; nevertheless I love his work and it makes plenty of sense to me.
Milan Kundera: I love this author. "The unbearable lightness of being" is absolutely fantastic - philosophy, politics, love, sex, despise, betrayal, jealousy, adultery, death...need I say more?
Now, the one that should never leave my shelf:
Robert Tocquet: this gentleman wrote about natural medicin and I can tell you that it was the worse book I have ever read - instead of providing information only it is highly judgemental, cynical and plain rubbish.
I would like to tag: Hanna (who is extremely intellectual and has extremely good taste); Lynda (a true artist) and Gigi (a strong activist mom).
Have fun!
